In many large cities there are lots of swing and lindy hop events to choose from in a given week. How does one choose which ones to attend? Here are three tips from our dance experience:

1. Go to events you have enjoyed before.

2. Select swing dance and lindy hop events where you feel the neighborhood is safe and you can get there easily or park.

3. If you’re going on a live band night the cover may be higher. It could be much more fun seeing a live band, but only if it is a band people like. Live band nights are sometimes on a Friday or Saturday, and when this is the case you may want to check and see if friends are available to go dancing.
